Ingredients
Onion -3- 4 medium
Gram flour – 2 cups
Ginger – 1 inch piece
Green chilly -2-3
Chilly powder -1 tbsp
Curry leaves – few
Asafoetida – a pinch
Salt – as per taste
Oil – for frying

Method
- Finely chop the onion ,green chilly, curry leaves and ginger. Squeeze these by adding little salt.
- Now in a deep bowl add the gram flour,chilly powder, asafeotida and make the batter by adding enough water.Make sure that the batter is thick and not loose.Now add the squeezed item into this and mix well.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan.Reduce the heat when the oil is hot and drop tablespoon of batter.Deep fry the vadas by turning both the sides.
- Remove the excess oil by using tissue paper.
Serve hot with tea.
