Tomato Curry

Tomatoes are available in everywhere in the world. so its very easy to prepare tomato curries. Only ten minutes need to prepare this recipe. Can serve tomato curry with chapathi, rice etc..


Tomato (Thakkali) – 3 nos
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Chilly powder – 1/2 tsp
Salt – As reqd
Water – 1/2 cup
Grated coconut – 1/2 cup
Shallots(Kunjulli) – 2 nos
Coconut oil – 2 tsp
Mustard seeds – 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves – few
• Place tomatoes in a vessel along with turmeric powder, chilly powder, salt and water.
• Boil it on a low flame for about 3 – 4 mins or until the tomatoes get mashed well.
• Grind together coconut and small onions along with 1/2 cup of water.
• Add it to the tomato gravy.
• Allow it to boil for 2 mins.
• Heat oil in a small pan.
• Splutter mustard seeds.
• Add curry leaves and saute for a while.
• Pour it into the tomato gravy and mix well.
