Kerala Style Tomato Curry

This spicy, tangy and aromatic tomato curry can be prepared very easily with the readily available ingredients from our kitchen. Enjoy Nadan Tomato curry with steamed rice for lunch.

 

Here goes the recipe:

Ingredients:

Tomato- 3 medium, finely chopped

Onion- 1 small

Green chili- 2, finely chopped

Ginger-1 tbsp

Curry leaves- few

Chilli powder- 1/2 tsp

Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp

Salt- to taste

Coconut oil

Mustard seeds- 1 tsp

Red chillies -2

Water- 1& 1/2 cup

Coconut milk-1/2 cup

Method

  • Wash and clean tomatoes and cut into pieces.
  • Take a kadai and add in chopped tomatoes, chopped onion, chilies, ginger, curry leaves, chili powder, turmeric powder, salt, and 1 tsp coconut oil and mash it well using hand add water and cook on medium flame till the tomatoes are well cooked.
  • Stir well and check in between.
  • Add the coconut milk or coconut paste and allow it to boil. Turn of the flame.
  • Take a pan and heat oil. Splutter mustard seeds. Add curry leaves and red chilies add this tempering into the tomato curry, Cover with a lid . Easy and tasty Tomato curry is now ready to serve with rice.
