Banana Bread

Do you have some bananas too brown for regular eating??? One may not feel to eat if the bananas are over ripe or is too brown . And most of the time it results in throwing in trash. In such cases why not transform it into a cake or bread ?? I am sure if we put them to good use with this special recipes,none will say no. This special bread is prepared using banana as a primary  ingredient and typical cake ingredients. Ripe bananas  is  used to prepare this bread.This dish can also be called as a banana cake.All types of bananas except Ethapazham  is suitable for this cake preparations.

Ingredients

Wheat flour- 2 cups
Baking soda- 2 tsp
Baking powder- 2 tsp
Egg white -4
Sugar/Sugar candy( Kalkandam)- 2 cups
Vegetable oil- 1/2 cup
Banana- 6

Method

  • Preheat the oven.
  • Grease and line the  cake tray.
  • Peel and chop the bananas.Add them to a bowl. Mash the bananas  well using a blender or mixer and keep it aside.
  • Sieve together Wheat flour,Baking soda and Baking powder.
  • Beat the  egg white till light and fluffy.
  • Add the sugar and vegetable oil and beat.
  • Now add  the dry ingredients  into the wet ingredients and mix properly.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared tin.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 30 mins or until a tooth pick inserted may come out clean.
