Fish Mango Curry | Meen Manga Curry

The combination of sourness from raw mango, the sweetness from the coconut milk and the spiciness from chilli powder is a lovely one. Meen Manga curry is very tasty and goes well with Appam,Chappati, Porotta, and so on.The curry has to be rested for a while so that the fish absorbs the wonderful flavors.

Here go the recipe of Kerala Style Fish Curry Cooked with mango and Coconut Milk.
Ingredients
Neimeen-200 gms
Raw mango-50 gms
Coconut oil-5tsp
Fenugreek-1/2tsp
Ginger-1tsp(chopped finely)
Garlic-1 tsp(chopped finely)
Green chillies-5(slit length wise)
Onion-1(finely chopped)
Tomato-2(finely chopped)
Kashmiri chilli powder-2 tbsp
Turmeric powder-1tsp
Tamarind paste-1 tsp
Water-1 cup
Coconut milk-1/2 cup
Coriander leaves-  1tsp(finely chopped)
Curry leaves-1
Method
  • Cut the fish into pieces
  • Chop the mango into fine pieces and keep it aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add Fenugreek and add ginger, garlic, green chillies, and onions and saute till it turns a golden color. Add tomatoes and saute and smash to make a paste.
  • Add chilli powder, turmeric powder, and tamarind paste and saute for a few minutes. add water and bring to boil.
  • Add the fish pieces into the boiling mix and add mango pieces when the fish is half cooked. Add coconut milk when the fish is fully cooked . Add coriander leaves and turn off the flame. Garnish with curry leaves and serve.
