- Steamed banana -3 big
- Rice flour - 1 cup
- Grated coconut- ½ cup
- Powdered (cumin,cardamon and sugar)- ½ cup
- water
- salt - apinch
- bay leaves/edanaela-
- Crush the steamed banana nicely with a spoon or by hand.
- Add rice flour to this and mix well.Add little water if required.
- Now add grated coconut and mix well.
- Add the powdered cumin,cardamon and sugar mix into this and mix well.Make sure that all the ingredients are incorporated fully.
- Last add a pinch of salt in to the dough.
- Now take one bay leave and shape it into a cone and fill in with a spoon of the dough and close it.Similarly make other dumplings.
- Steam the dumplings in a steamer or idly pot for about 10-15 mins or until done.
The quantity of crushed Banana should be more than the rice flour,So adjust accordingly.
